LINE Sticker Function Inspiration

Observation - Qualitative Research - Prototyping

I found that there are severals problems when some users using the sticker function. One is users cannot understand the meaning of stickers, especially for the elders. And the other one is that for some users they aren't interested in using stickers. Then, I started to find the reasons based on qualitative research, including recruiting users to interview, contextual inquiry and brainstorming possible modifications with users together.

Finally, my design foundation came out! It is built around three core ideas: entertainment, interaction and  intimation. Based on foundation and discussing with interviewees, there are three functions of sending stickers:

Sound-recording Sticker
Users can send stickers with their recording voice. This new way of sending stickers can improve the accuracy of communication and make communication more intimate.

Scenario-based Sticker
As users use this kind of stickers the background of chat room would be filled with the stickers with animation. It could make senders and receivers feel interesting and vigorous atmosphere during the conversation.

Interaction Sticker
Senders and receivers collaborate together to make this kind of stickers show up. Entertainment element and collaboration could make users feel closer with each other. Also, it could make users be willing to use sticker function more.
Paper Prototyping for User Testing Interview

This is an interview of user testing through paper prototyping. I created a food social media app. This app is designed for sharing the food with friends, finding food information and navigating surrounding restaurants. I used pen and papers to draw wireframes of this app as a paper prototype in order to understand users' thinking and testing the functions in easy and quick way.

Healthy App: Love Healthy
Storyboard & Workflow

This app is designed for the modern people to help them getting healthier. I drew a storyboard in order to communicate with the developers so that they can understand the scenario of using this app easily. Also, based on different functions and scenarios, I drew the workflow to communicate with developers.

Augmented Reality App: MeiFood Menu
Research - Prototyping

It's an augmented reality app for restaurant menu. It is developed by Unity. Once the users point their smartphones at specific poster, they can bring the three-dimensional dishes and dishes' information to life.
